So these films showed a very glamorous version of WW2.īut that's also a general thing about that era of film-making in general, not a lot of death, especially not the good guys. And it was 'only' 17 years after WW2, and in general a huge war-movie boom. It definitely was the point in time where heroes didn't die, and if they did it was done with extreme cinematic focus on that death.
